About
FLOOD is a not for profit contemporary art project directed and curated by Paul McAree. Existing since 2008, FLOOD has commissioned projects by artists including Theresa Nanigian, Flavia Muller Medeiros, Kevin Atherton and Michael John Whelan. In 2012 FLOOD launched the first of 8 exhibitions in a successful partnership with Dublin City Council Arts Office as part of the Vacant Spaces initiative.
FLOOD has commissioned occasional one-off print and publication projects with artists, fostering new developments in their practice. These projects aim to have a long shelf life, existing outside of the time limits of temporary exhibitions.
FLOOD has now relocated from Dublin to Co Waterford, and aims to commission projects in the rural setting of the Blackwater Valley. FLOOD seeks to develop residencies, offering creative time to artists, and commission occasional one-off projects across the Blackwater Valley region from Ballyduff to Lismore, Cappoquin, Villierstown, Aglish and Clashmore.
